What is Inner Thigh Liposuction?

Inner thigh liposuction is a procedure to remove excess fats from the inner thighs. How does it work?

Our surgeon will give you local anesthesia first to make an incision for him to be able to insert the cannula. The tumescent fluid is infiltrated into the fats to numb and break the fats followed by the suctioning and removal of the fats.

The three keys to a healthy weight:

  1. Eat well

  • Don’t skip meals – this may lead to overeating later. Weight loss efforts are most successful when meals and snacks are small and spread out during the day.
  • Eat balanced meals. Choosing a wide variety of foods is important for good health, but control portion sizes and avoid second servings. Try serving the foods on your plate with these tips in mind:
    • Fill one quarter of your plate with lean protein – this portion size fits within the palm of your hand. Lean protein sources include fish (especially salmon), poultry, egg whites and tofu.
    • Then fill at least half of your plate with non-starchy vegetables like tomatoes, salads and other greens, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and green beans.
    • If desired, add a small portion of fruit or a cup of low-fat or non-fat milk or yogurt. Or, enjoy these as a between-meals snack instead.
  • Limit foods that are high in saturated fat, since fat is a concentrated source of calories.
    • Choose lean meats. Trim visible fat from meats and skin from poultry before eating.
    • Use lower-fat cooking methods, such as baking, broiling, roasting, stewing and steaming. Avoid frying foods.
    • Watch out for added fats from condiments, such as cheese, butter, margarine, mayonnaise and salad dressing.
    • Eat less added sugars in the form of table sugar, honey, sweets, pastries and desserts.
    • Avoid high-calories beverages like sodas, fruit juices and alcohol.

 

  1. Be active – exercise

Try making exercise a daily habit. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate activity, such as brisk walking, on most days of the week. If your goal is to lose weight, however, you’ll benefit from doing more, as much as 60 to 90 minutes of activity per day.

Don’t set the bar too high when you’re just getting started. Start slowly, and gradually increase your daily activity level. Some tips for increasing activity levels:

  • Limit TV, computer and video game use.
  • Schedule family exercise time.
  • Get an exercise video or equipment to use at home.
  • Walk the dog.
  • Do errands by foot or bike.
  • Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
  • Park farther away or get off the bus a few stops early and walk the rest of the way.
  • Join a walking group, aerobics class, sports team, local pool, gym or community centre.

Water assisted liposuction is the latest and safest method of liposuction being used by plastic surgeons today as it holds no risk as traditional liposuction. As in all types of liposuction, fatty deposits are removed from beneath the skin for a more contoured look. Liposuction is optimal for people who are in good physical shape.

Instead of injecting the body with tumescent fluid and removing the fat cells manually with a cannula, or using laser technology to melt and dislodge the fat, the water assisted liposuction actually uses a slightly pressurized stream of saline to dislodge fat and simultaneously remove the cells. Instead of destroying fat cells, this type of liposuction loosens the fat cells to facilitate more gentle removal. Water Assisted liposuction injects tumescent fluid (saline and medicines including a local anaesthetic) into the body part being treated. Tumescent fluid is proven effective and several alternate liposuction technologies are now using the tumescent technique for its local anaesthetic benefits. The Procedure

Once the local anaesthesia has taken hold, a cannula is then introduced into the tissue to irrigate and then simultaneously suction the loosened fat cell from the body. Finally, any remaining fluid is removed. The procedure is considered gentle and minimally invasive and the force seen in traditional liposuction methods is not needed when using jet-assisted liposuction. There is usually very little bruising or swelling and water assisted liposuction often has a very short recovery time, partially because the use of water means that there is less tissue trauma to the body.
